Head of Provider Partnerships
Remote (based in Chicago, Dallas, Houston, or Austin) • Full Time • Senior
Manatee is a virtual mental health clinic for kids and families. We partner with pediatricians and health systems to connect families to care, fast. As our Head of Provider Partnerships, you'll set the strategy for how we grow provider relationships across key markets, including Illinois and Texas. You own the partnerships and coach a distributed team toward the metrics that get Manatee to our ambitious financial goals that allow us to scale and serve more families. This is a senior role, reporting into our CEO, and built for someone who is as comfortable setting the strategy in the leadership meeting as they are driving to a pediatrician's office. You’ll spend half your time on the road building relationships in-person, the rest working from home on strategy, team coaching, and follow-through to close, nurture, and grow our referral partnerships.
What You'll Do:
- Set the Strategy: Own how Manatee grows provider and referral partnerships across Illinois and Texas: where to invest, which practices and health systems to prioritize, and how the team gets there.
- Lead and Develop the Team: Manage and coach a distributed team of five: Provider Partnerships Associates (BDRs) and the Provider Success Manager), with dotted-line guidance to Marketing. Set goals, run pipeline reviews, and coach your team toward the monthly and quarterly metrics that get Manatee to our goals for growth and impact.
- Build Relationships Yourself: Conduct your own outreach and in-person meetings with physician practices and health systems. You're a strategic partner, not a door-to-door sales rep. You use data and a real understanding of pediatric behavioral-health referral patterns to have credible, high-impact conversations with skeptical gatekeeper pediatricians who care deeply about their patients and families, you aren’t just there to hard-pitch a rigid solution.
- Grow the Partner Base: Drive new pediatrician and health-system partnerships from first contact to signed, active referral relationships. You'll personally carry a monthly new-partnership quota alongside your team. You know when to strategically leverage the Founder and CEO for a key, large group kickoff or close, but handle 90% of deals yourself.
- Own the Engine, Don't Just Manage It: You will keep the CRM and territory pipeline honest. When something needs fixing: a CRM workflow, an associate's pipeline discipline, or marketing that isn’t landing, you're comfortable rolling up your sleeves and hands-on coaching, or bringing it across the line yourself when necessary.
- Manage Up: Report metrics and progress to Manatee's CEO and Head of Operations, translating what you're seeing in the field into the decisions leadership needs to make. This role exists to create space for the Founder to stay focused on carrier partnerships, market-building, and investor relations.
What You Bring:
- 10+ years in a quota-carrying sales, business development, or partnerships role
- At least 5 years specifically in healthcare sales or partnerships, working directly with care providers or physicians
- Proven experience coaching and developing a team toward measurable sales or partnership targets
- A strategic operator's mindset, just as willing to optimize a CRM workflow or coach an Associate one-on-one as to set strategy
- Comfortable with in-person selling and building relationships face-to-face
- Reliable personal transportation for local relationship-building in your home market (mileage reimbursed); available for meaningful travel to our other core markets — expect roughly 40–50% travel, concentrated on in-person partnership building
- Comfortable remotely managing people and markets across the country
- HubSpot or similar CRM experience
- A track record of hitting partnership or revenue targets you personally owned
